100 years ago this small church was built in a suburb on the fringe of Johannesburg’s large mining operations.
Holy Tinity Church is a Sir Herbert Baker designed brick building that accommodates a wide variety of folk. Included among the congregation of English, Xhosa and French speaking members, are refugees from as far afield as Pakistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Angola and the Congo Republic, a truly cosmopolitan society.
