LADY DAY SERVICE 2009

The service that commenced at 9:00 am was held at St Peters-Palm Springs on Saturday 14th March. The Mothers Union ladies came from all corners of the Diocese of Christ the King. The service started with a lively procession and mothers were singing choruses, it was so good to see them walking around praising God, it reminded me of Palm Sunday when the crowds were welcoming the King of kings.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Bishop Peter Lee and the sermon was done by Reverend Maureen Simons who preached on the annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary (Luke 1: 26-38). She referred to Mary as a humble and obedient woman who respected Jesus even though she knew that he was her son. As she went on she asked the Mother Union members to be humble and obedient to themselves and to their priests in charge. She also touched on Mary Samna the woman of prayer and unity. This was a challenging message to the mothers of the Diocese.

The highlight of this Lady Day service was the licensing of the new President and the executive committee of the Mother Union. They were blessed by + Peter who thanked the outgoing President and her committee for the good work they have done.

We wish to thank those who organised the service and the clergy who supported this event. May God Bless You.
